TouchBook: metà netbook e metà tablet

Always Innovating ha annunciato un nuovo dispositivo che può fungere sia da ultra-portatile che da tablet. Con GNU/Linux come sistema operativo predefinitivo.

L’azienda americana ha finalmente deciso di lanciare sul mercato il suo gioiellino ultra-portatile, un dispositivo in grado di funzionare sia come netbook che come tablet. Dall’aspetto e dalle forme interessanti, l’ultima proposta dell’azienda americana fa del prezzo il suo princiapale punto di forza. La versione con GNU/Linux, infatti, costerà poco più di 300 dollari, mentre quella con Windows 100 dollari in più. Per quanto riguarda le caratteristiche hardware, sotto la sua scocca troviamo una CPU Texas Instruments OMAPP3530 con 256MB di memoria RAM e ROM. Il display è da 8,9 pollici per una risoluzione di 1024×600 pixel e può essere facilmente ruotato o addirittura staccato dalla tastiera per essere utilizzato come un normale Tablet. L’archiviazione dei dati è affidata ad una scheda SD da 8GB e non manca la connettività Ethernet, Wi-Fi e Bluetooth 2.1.
