Indiscrezioni Asus EeePC

Dal sito Gizmodo si dice che probabilmente l’Eee PC: il 901 e il 1000 sono in uscita per l’8 luglio.

L’articolo spiega che non è una notizia di prima mano e che non arriva da Asus ma da Liliputing, e che si dovrebbero rilasciare entrambi gli Eee PC basati su Atom, il 901 e il 1000.

Mentre sul sito tuxjournal, si vocifera che il nuovo EeePC non avrà più Xandros come sistema operativo ma che possa essere la volta di Debian. Infatti, l’articolo continua dicendo che un messaggio apparso sulla mailing list degli sviluppatori della versione Eee PC della storica distribuzione lascia ben poco spazio all’immaginazione. Ed ancora che all’Asus si voglia una collaborazione con gli sviluppatori della nota distribuzione.

Ancora da eeepc.it si conferma quanto sopra e da qui si è presa questa parte della discussione dalla ML Debian:

I just received an encouraging note from Ellis Wang of Asus in Taiwan following up on Martin Michlmayr’s suggestions to Asus about how they could work more closely with the Debian community[0]. Ellis has assigned Robert Huang the task of putting a working relationship in
place between Asus and Debian, with backup provided by five other Asus employees.
